Who We Are

Food for Hope   is a common-good farm project working to close the gaps in Vermont’s local food system. Based in Middlebury, we grow and process local produce for our friends and neighbors experiencing food insecurity, combining our own harvest with gleaned crops in partnership with area farms. Every action is rooted in our belief that truth, justice, and hope are essential ingredients in creating a food system that works for all.

Our Vision

We envision a Vermont where every neighbor has access to healthy, familiar, locally grown food—both fresh and processed—and where farms like Little Village Acres are part of a thriving, connected system that nourishes both people and land.

Our Mission

Our mission is to grow and process nutritious food. We cultivate our own land and serve as a processing facility for produce gleaned and donated from local farms. We donate the food we grow and the food we process to people who are struggling to stretch a tight food budget, to folks who are homebound, and to those experiencing homelessness.
